Click this button to select an input for Screen Recorder to record and to turn on and off the 'WatchIt' mode.
Full Desktop
If selected, your entire desktop will be the input for your video or picture. (Default)
A Window
You can select a window or a part of a window as the object of your recording.
In this mode, you can freely move around the selected input window as long as you keep it in view on screen.. You can also resize the selected window. Screen recorder will adapt itself to the change.
Press F4 or ENTER to select a window, or press ESC to exit.
A Region
You can select a region on your screen to be recorded. Screen Recorder displays a picture of your desktop and you specify the region.
After you select a region, markers will be displayed on the screen. You can click the 'STOP' button in order to hide these markers.
Picture In Picture
You can record two regions in a video at the same time. The second region you specify will be recorded on the first region. This will be shown on the monitor just after you select both regions. You can position the second region to where you want it on the monitor.
HandyCam
HandyCam can be used for recording. You can freely move it around on your screen while recording.
Click the RECORD hotkey button (default F7 key) to begin recording. Press the ESC key to exit from HandyCam mode. You may also press STOP hotkey button (default F6 key) to stop recording.
While in StandBy, press the F4 key in order to set Handycam's recording size.
WatchIt Mode
This is not an input source but a recording method. If this mode is selected, Screen Recorder watches the source (input) and records only when the content of the source changes. For example when you select a window to be recorded and WatchIt mode is on, Screen Recorder records the window when a change in the window occurs. Otherwise it pauses itself and waits for any change in the window's contents.
This feature can be used in order to record a video stream from the internet. The program only records when there is action in the target area.
Note : Audio recording is disabled in WatchIt mode.
Draw Modes
You can select capture draw modes for video and picture captures separately. 'Smooth' mode will provide smooth display, 'Sharp' mode provides sharp display of captures. By default, smooth mode is set for video capture, sharp mode for picture capture. You should change the draw mode to 'Sharp' when you find the resulting display too blury or to 'Smooth' when you find it too sharp.
